Health services are inadequate in remote rural areas. We observed that appropriate medical facilities were not available in the villages nearby our operation area and the few hospitals were very expensive so people in the community suffered but avoided consulting doctors.
We reached out to villagers in our areas of operation. We deployed mobilized two Medicare Vans to connect with people in residential pockets deep in Gir-Somnath and Amreli districts.
Villagers in the said districts who were largely unable to access proper medical care were benefited by our health care programmes. Each van had an MBBS doctor, pharmacist and a community mobilizer to connect with residents of far flung villages in the districts where our vans were deployed.
